This is that rare thing: a modern horn-loaded design that avoids compression drivers and preliminary chambers in order to achieve an even response and strong coupling with the room. A 2" driver powers the midrange horn while an 18" short-throw bass driver supplies low-end energy. Highs are delivered by the Lansche trademark Corona plasma tweeter. The system has a specified 96dB sensitivity and worked a treat with a Mola Mola electronics and the aforementioned DAC.

At the heart of this loudspeaker you will find not only our CORONA plasma tweeter but also a completely re-designed midrange horn. The new design features no preliminary chambers for manipulating frequency response or compression chambers for increasing speaker efficiency, thus avoiding any of the sound colorations horns are traditionally known for.

A professional two-inch driver is used as the central transmission medium. Our proprietary mix of multiple horn opening functions ensures a frequency curve that is so sympathetic that the horn can be tightly filtered at the top and bottom of its range, further enhancing the sound quality. While that is a good reason in itself for our new design, the main reason lies in the horn's deep coupling capacity right up to the crossover with the Corona – while maintaining excellent omnidirectional response all along its range.

Thanks to this feature, the bass section only needs to cover the frequencies up to 400 Hz, which is why it can afford to use a very large driver. At 18", this huge woofer has such a large membrane that it hardly has any throw at all, meaning that it can transmit its frequency range perfectly and without any time delays.

In keeping with the loudspeaker's outstanding sound quality, only highest-grade, hand-picked components are used for its construction. To the amplifier, the CUBUS MK.II represents an easily-driven load with an ideal phase response and no output-draining minimum impedances.
